I LOVE Zumba! You don't even realize you are working out because you are too busy dancing and having fun! i think we should have more Zumba parties! :)
LIFT WEIGHTS. - if you're buff, your muscles burn fat just sitting there typing!
YOGA. - I read a study that said that women who incorporated yoga/pilates into their weight-loss exercise routine lost, on average, 80% MORE WEIGHT than those who didn't! They said that the statistic was so dramatic because those women who practiced yoga/pilates were more aware of their bodies and breathing patterns and were less prone to injury from all of the stretching. And for real, yoga just feels really good :) My jury is out on pilates...too much core work ;) lol
I love, love, love yoga. It's challenging and satisfying. Plus, the lean muscle yoga builds is sexy! However, it's only a healthy way to exercise if you're posing correctly and breathing. It's great to push yourself physically, but you can really get hurt doing yoga poses incorrectly or making yourself get into a pose your not ready for. Even to most simple poses can be challenging if you hold them for a long time and work your muscles while you're in a pose. You can also constantly move through poses (known as Vinyasa) and you'll get a great workout. Yoga doesn't have to be a stagnant way to exercise and it's way more than just stretching (although stretching is a great part of yoga). Anyone up for a yoga party??? I'll teach!
