General tips... The key to losing weight is to eat less calories than you burn off. POINT BLANK. That is called our basic metabolic rate (BMR). There are lots of calculators online to figure this number out, so start there. Mine is 1500 calories. So if I exercise, then that gives me more calories to work with. Let's say I burn off 500 calories at the gym. That gives me 2000 calories to work with. If you want to lost 1lb per week, you must cut 3500 calories out of your diet...or 500 less calories every day. So if you want to lose 2lbs, cut out 1000 calories, etc. But NEVER go under 1300 calories. Your body will freak out and hold on to every last fat cell you have thinking there will be no more food coming. So in the case above, I would be able to eat 1500 calories/day, and expect to lose 1lb/week. Remember it is best to lose weight S L O W L Y. As you go on, you can tweak your diet and exercise routines to balance each other out. Losing weight isn't easy, it's like a second job paying attention to everything, but it is WORTH IT! :) No food looks as good as being skinny(er) feels!!
